Yes remove the negative (-) battery terminal on your battery under the hood of the car and rest it on a metal part of the vehicle for a few minutes, after that re attach your battery terminal tighten it up and see if you're problem is still existing
The security system (VATS/PassKey) is having problems, it's typical on those cars and it will gradually prevent the car to start anymore. You can find a great write-up here: http://newrockies.ca , this has been the only thing that saved my Park Avenue.
sounds like the teeth on flywheel are ground down in one area on the flywheel . take out starter check teeth on starter and flywheel . turn engine over with bolt on front of crankshaft and look in hole where starter is
