Check your clutch fluid .its on drivers side under hood, on the fire wall . It takes brake fluid. If it is vary low or nothing at all , you may have to bleed the system .

My clutch pedal is almost to the floor and wont release and i can not manually pull it back and its also hard to switch gears. What could the problem be?

You have a hydraulic clutch? Is there a master cylinder for clutch? It sounds like you have a bad master cylinder or slave cylinder which is attached on the bell housing to released clutch. One or both may be bad, or low on fluid.

Slow pick up

Maybe your clutch slave cylinder is bad.

Hard shifiting on 1991 chevy s-10

you could try replacing the gearbox oil if its old or low it will be stiff to change gear. it may also have a cracked clutch fork. when this happens the release bearing will not press the pressure plate evenly and the clutch will not clear and therefore will not or be hard to get into gear.

if this helps let me know

cheers

Acura rsx won't shift when it's on, only when off it shifts

This may be a clutch problem or a cluthch slave, what is happening is the transmission is not completely stopped spinning, so as you try to go into gear the clutch is not disengaged completely. this can be due to a bad slave or master.

The fluid for the clutch master, make sure its full. if low then you may have a leak. if low fill and pump pedal a few times to see if that helps.

If clutch master is low or full go to trany and locate the cltuch release fork on the transmission at the end you will see clutch slave, make sure there are no leaks. have someone push clutch pedal as you watch the fork move. make sure it move the distance. if its leaking then its bad.

The last thing would be the clutch pressure plate or disc, this is hard to see without removing transmission, If something broke away from cluch plate and is jammed against plate this will keep traany spinnig, but it would also be hard to get into first.

If you can start car in neutral and put into 1st gear without a problem then thats confusing, but if it is hard to go into first also then its in the clutch system. i am guessing you are in first with clutch down when starting and then its hard to get into other gears. good day.

Theres a problem changing gears, its a soft very low biting clutch peddle, unable to change down from high ratio gears to low ratio gears, having to knock into nuetral pump the clutch to select gears...

This sounds like you may have a leak in the hydrulics of the clutch, the clutch slave is not disengaging the clutch all the way, this is the reason for the low bite pedal and hard to get gears, the most common problem is the fluid is low due to a leaking slave cylinder, i would look around the clutch components for a leak, hope this helps.

Ford focus gear hard to change

Hi there, if you say hard to change, does the gears grind if you change or does the shifter just feel stiff on changing???if the gears grind the clutch need checking, check the fluid level as well as it could be low, could only need to be adjusted if a cable model, most are hydraulic clutches so need to check the fluid.

1999 s 10 hard to engage in gear, drives fine once I am going. Clutch fluid was very low I added some and sems better. I can run through gears easily when engine is off?

Your pressure plate is not fully releasing the clutch. I would try bleeding the the line to the clutch slave cylinder to check for air. If there is no air in the line, Chances are your Clutch Master cylinder is bad.

How do i check if it needs oil on the manual transmission because the shifts are hard to change when running or is there something else to do beside a new clutch already done

Hard shifting may be caused be the clutch not releasing properly. If you have a new clutch your problem might be caused by your hydraulic clutch release system. When stopped and idling you should be able to shift gears without grinding.Reverse grinding may indicate a clutch release problem. You should have some clutch pedal travel up from the floor before you feel it engaging. The oil fill check is either at the speedo or a plug at the axle shaft level.Be sure to use factory recommended fluid.Gear oil is not a proper fluid.

Low pressure on the clutch pedal.

Might be time to change the clutch.
