When you shift, your foot has to stay on the Brake pedal, and trans in Neutral to do the Low range in and out.
its not in low range. that works fine. it won't come out of high range.
Okay, so you are saying you have 4 Wheel high, 4 Wheel low, but can not get into 2 Wheel high. The Selector in the dash has Resistors at each position. There is 1 actuator or servo which uses the electric current to give you 3 positions. You want to take a Voltmeter to the Servo wire at the Servo and check the voltage when the Selector is in 2 Wheel high, and 4 Wheel high.
If there is no difference in Voltage, the Selector is bad; if the Voltage changes and the Servo does not respond, the Servo is stuck from retracting to the 2 Wheel high position. You can check for varnish on the plunger, but if the Servo does not move properly its bad. If you want, you can check the Voltage in 4 Wheel low, but its working.
If the Selector is found to be the problem it can be accessed through the radio hole in the dash. There are 4 holes in the radio face, Walmart has the clips or you can use nails in the 4 openings. If your bulb on the Selector switch is burned out, it can change the Resistence for the wiring. See if your Selector lights up when you put the dash lights on. You may only need a lightbulb to fix everything.
