1989 Ford Econoline 150 Van will not start

Most all vehicles have main power cable to starter solenoid which is mounted on the starter where the power cable to the switch connects OR there is a separate heavy gauge red wire connected to the positive post of the battery that leads to the ignition switch. Also check your ground cable by connecting battery jumper cable to negative post on battery and other end to metal frame of van.

My 1989 ford e150 van doesn't start. battery is good, selenoid is good, new ignition switch, there is no power to fuse block and ignition switch.

There is also an ignition relay, a coil, and the wiring harness it's self. Check to see if the ignition can be by passed by using a test light first to find the hot side of the ignition fuse. See if there is power there it should be constant all the time but it only makes the connection when you turn the key. If it does it's probably your relay. You are aware that there is two fuse blocks for the ignition. If there is no power to either fuse block i would buy another ignition switch (you can always take it back).. and if still nothing i would replace the harness.. hope i could help. oh one other thing check the ignition module.

I have a 1990 ford econoline van e350 that would not start, we replaced fuel pump and fuel injector, still nothing then we replaced the ignition module and still can't get it started

I have a 1989 E350 that had the same problem. I finally found that I had corroded connectors under the hood. There was a group of 5 connectors behind the air cleaner housing under the hood. Two of them had hot wires that feed the computer and the injectors. Repaird these and the van starts right up. Hope this helps.

My 1989 ecoline 150 starter fires when u connect the batteryreplaced starter solinoid and ignition switch and keyswitch still starts no key and will still run after van starts

look for shorted wires leading from your starter solenoid to your ignition switch.
the wires are shorted "on" before they get to your ignition switch.
separate the burned/shorted wires: (most likely under the dash) then tape them so they don't touch.
