SOURCE: wipers wont work on my 98 honda civic

you can just search for Honda Civik Factory Service Manual online. Also I had a simliar issue with my 87 rx7 and I took apart the wiper motor and cleaned up all kinds of muck inside. Put it back together and it works fine now.

SOURCE: Remote won't lock the Drivers side lock

hi there you say you have had the lock changed do you mean the key hole or the door closure part of the lock?
if you changed the key part its the main lock that's faulty and the reveres is true ,
if the remote is working on one door it is not the remote that's the problem.
i hope that this has been helpful regards John

SOURCE: 2005 honda civic pasenger door locks jamed ,doesnt

There is a small solinoid inside the door. Place your hand on the door and lock the car. You will feel if the solinoid is working because you'll feel the door 'clunk'. Hopefully you'll feel that. If that is ok, take the inside door panel off carefully, fully grease the lock mechanism. If the solioid has gone, take it off the door panel, and spray with releasing oil. Drench it. Attatch two wires to the solinoid, and touch on the battery until it releases, just tap it, not holdt it on the battery, if still no luck, replace the solinoid.

How often should I change the oil on a honda civic vp 2005 that I put only 6000 miles a year.

Its still best that you at least change your oil once a year, every 3000 miles is recommended. If you have a car with that low mileage you still want to make it last a long time. Whats $70-$100 bucks a year to have peace of mind. Even if your not driving it the oil still should be changed regularly.

Just a simple question: I'm looking at a 2005 Civic Hybrid versus a 2006 regular Civic. I'm leaning toward the hybrid for gas milage, but one mechanic was Very Wary of a Used Hybrid ..."all the hybrid...

it sounds more like that old adage....how long is the piece of string.... i don't think you can ever predict if something will last longer than others, you might buy the hybrid and drive off the forecourt only to have it brake down 2 miles up the road, and vice versa with the normal civic,or they could be looking at 10000000 miles.. they are to be honest just as good as each other, obviously the hybrid is better for the environment and cheaper running cost, but just as all honda's they are both very reliable, i truly think you should toss that coin of fate and see what side it lands, either way your a winner..hope this helps...sorta lol

Keyless entry remote issue with Honda Pilot 2005

First, Congratulations on a '05 with just 63k miles. The '05 Pilot was the penultimate in Honda's fleet to date.
Try removing the battery and using a pencil eraser, scrub the contacts holding the battery in place.

I have a 97 Honda civic Ex coupe and my power driver window, and back right window(when sitting in the driver seat) stopped working. How could i fix that?

If your not over miles then it should be covered under warranty, take it to the dealer for inspection. they have standard 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty... 3 years 50,000 miles on power train...

Premature brake wear on my 2005 Honda Civic

try a different brand of pads. Civics aren't the best at pads lasting a long time. you need to go with a semi-metallic pad such as the O'Reilley auto parts "BrakeBest" brand.

Alternators

It's not your alternator, why would that cause your lights to flicker as it goes through the battery FIRST (read: it's a giant power filter/surge suppressor)?
A Nippondenso alternator should last for about 10 years or 150K miles or so, unless you are driving 100K miles a months, stop replacing the alternator.
What does the noise sound like?  I think you have a serpentine belt,  is that correct?

2005 Honda Civic Special Edition won't start-rapid clicking

If the battery checked out ok, the next thing to check would be the starter. The battery cables have been removed and cleaned? Don't think an 05 would have a corrosion problem, but who knows, it's easy enough to check. I also am wondering about the battery. If it's original, it's about 4 years old, It's approaching the end of it's life, even w/ only 42k. good luck and let me know how u do. countrycurt0.
