My 1999 Dodge Neon wil not start or make any noise what so ever when I turn the key to try and start it. Everything else like the lights, radio is working just fine. Would do think I should do?

all the neon I have seen have way to small battery cables and ground wires. We had this issue with our neon. Replace both ground to engine block and battery to starter cables , and terminal ends with heavy duty ones . and add a heavy duty ground cable from battery to body. this will permit the charging / starting systems to work with greater efficiency.

Is the car still in gear? If it is, then it will not start till you put the car in park. I've done this before and the same thing happened, had radio, lights etc...till I put car in gear and it started. Check the gear selector, if it's not in park, then put it in park and try to start. Hope that helps.

Check the battery and the spark plug. Replace the spark plug if necessary.

Check fuel line fuel pump

It sounds like you may have a bad starter. If your starter is bad your car will not turn over, but everything else will still work like normal. I would start there first. I hope this helps.

i have worked on a neon before that had that same problem.so check the connections to your brake lights,stop lights,reverse lights,and turn lights.they could have a bad connection and its draining the battery.that was the problem i had so maybe your having the same exact problem.it had took me weeks to find that problem.i would jump start the car and it would run fine,let it sit for a couple of hours and the battery would be dead.so anyways ya check that i can almost bet thats your problem.

How old is the battery? Clean the connections, charge the battery. Try starting it. Get the battery tested at Autozone or some place like that.

Thats the likely culprit.

grey headed key? if so sounds like its in theft mode if it is try another key
