i'd try some fuel addative to clean out the injection system ,give it a good long drive (50-100miles) so the engine gets to a high running temperature , does the vehicle do a lot of stop/start journeys ? if so i'd add the fuel addative on a regular basis to avoid this kind of issue, otherwise will have to strip down the injection system and inlet manifold etc
I think in 07, Mercedes said lets make it harder on or customers and put the filter in the gas tank! in 06 they were mounted outside. from what I gather they should be good for around 12 years or 156,000 miles. Check with your dealer on Monday just to make sure. Good luck
most likely you have a bad crank sensor or fuel problem you need to check fuel pressure ,if you have enough pressure ,most likely you need crank position sensor,if you don`t have fuel pressure ,it might be your fuel pump relay or the pump, i would start with the relay first very unexpensive. you can also hear the pump if it`s working by cranking the engine and listening rear of the car for a humming sound . good luck
REPLACE WATER ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS DRAIN THE COOLANT SYSTEM.REMOVE THE ENGINE COOLING FAN AND CLUTCH THEN THE FAN SHROUD.REMOVE ENGINE COVER IF EQUIPPED.THEN REMOVE THE ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT.UNBOLT THE POWER STEERING PUMP MOVE IT ASIDE DONT DISCONNECT ANY POWER STEERING PUMP HOSES.DISCONNECT WATER PUMP HOSES, REMOVE BELT PULLEY THEN REMOVE WATER PUMP MOUNTING BOLTS AND WATER PUMP.CLEAN WATER PUMP MATING SURFACE BE CAREFUL DONT SCRATCH PUMP SURFACE. BESURE WHEN YOU INSTALL NEW WATER PUMP USE GASKET SEALANT ON BOTH SIDE OF GASKET TO KEEP IT FROM LEAKING COOLANT.
I thought they where either on the side of the core support(follow the wire harness and it should go to the relay). If not remove the fuse box lid and then take out the screws retaining the lid housing and you will find a series of relays. There will be one for high speed (engine uses this when temp. is to high) the other is a low speed relay(this is the climate control aux. fan relay) They may have fuses on top of them I know the older models did. I hope I have been helpful.
