Power Steering Fluid Power steering pumps are ordinarily lubricated with power steering fluid. Use the correct type for the vehicle. Check the owner's manual if you are unsure.

Usually it's a belt driven power steering fluid pump that has hoses that lead to the rack and pinion steering.

Unscrew the cap and add power steering fluid to it there.

Again, check your belt driven accessories, and one of them will be the power steering pump, usually up top or down below a little bit. They usually make it easy to check the power steering fluid since it is something that can lose fluid if there is a leak.

If you don't have any power steering problems, like squeaking or lack of power steering performance, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Where to put power steering fluid in a 2011 chevy malibu ltz v-6

The reason you cannot locate a fluid reservoir is because there is none. Your car has an electric power steering. If the problem continues to persist, you may have to replace the power steering pump.

My Power Steering fluid is low, I want to add power steering fluid. I can't find the cap to add fluid in my 2006 Chevy Malibu LTZ.

how do you know its low then? it's there in the engine compartment, its usually set in a small black plastic box towards the front off most engines because its run by the serpentine belt, so follow the belt on your car it rolls right over the power steering unit. it"ll have a circular knob with small half moon cuts on the outside to make it easier to grip, and right on the top, in yellow writing, it'll say power steering fluid only! Hydraulic fluid or transmission fluid, dont put brake fluid in there..always in a pinch you can pour transmission fluid in. Now if its leaking i highly recommend "Lucas" stop leak power steering fluid, but only to top it off dont poor in the whole bottle at once because this stuff works too good! and could lock up your steering. Everytime its low just top it off again.
can you rate my answer.thank you.
