SOURCE: Driver side headlight does not shine as far as the

There are some adjuster screws on the headlight assembly that will move the headlight up and down and side to side. Park about ten feet from a wall and turn the lights on. Turn the screw until the beams are even on the wall and centered in front of and slightly to the middle of the car. Good luck.

Adjusting headlights

You should not try to adjust the headlights yourself because if you get them to where they shine in other drivers eyes when going down the road you could be fined for it.If you don't know how or where the beams should shine you could make it worse, they have to be a certain hieght and a certain angle.

How to change the headlight

Open the hood and look on the back of the headlight fixture for a large plastic nut... This is the retaining ring that holds your headlight bulb in the fixture.
If by ' problem with my headlight shining' you mean your headlight no longer works , you can use the above to replace the bulb and that should solve the issue.
HOWEVER , if by ' problem with my headlight shining' you mean that the light is not aimed properly , you will need different instruction on how to solve the problem.

How do I adjust the headlight beams on my 1991 Dodge Spirit?

I believe these have adjustment screws between the headlight bulb and the headlight bezzle on the top and bottom center of the headlight.

Crouch down so the bulb would be shining right in your eyes if it were on. You should see the adjustment screws I'm talking about in there.

You should be able to shine the lights on a garage door or wall and move the screws in or out to get the desired beam height you're looking for.

Headlights aren't bright enough at night

Don't change to HID Xenon or Bi-Xenon unless you change the entire headlight unit, as your standard headlamp units are not designed for this. You will only end up blinding oncoming traffic, and your beam scatter will be all over the place.

Take your car to a servicing garage or dealer and ask them to check the headlight alignment. If you are still unhappy with the headlight performance, there are plenty of quality halogen bulbs out there - just look at the Philips or Osram automotive range.

Headlights shining high are the bulbs upside down

it's very difficult to install them upside down, but i guess anything is possible. wait until dusk, shine the lights on a flat surface and attempt to adjust until the lights look like they are shining in the center.

Headlights need adjusting

The headlights will have small rods or adjusting screws located near the headlight mounting points. Will probably need a torx socket or screwdriver to adjust. Torx is a 6 point type screw.
