Sometime my car will start and sometimes it wont. when it does start the battery light and the brake light are on and it wants to die. the battery is brand new and the starter is fairly new. the alternator has been tested and it came back good.

Sounds like you have a loose ground wire usually found at the the battery post, the distributor, coil or altenator. When a ground wire is loose it will sometimes start the car and let you drive until you go over a bump or make a turn or when you hit your brakes hard especially when parking and then it disconnects and the car will cut off and not start up when you return. Also make sure battery posts are clean and tight.
Do you have a keyless entry? You could try to enter your vehicle using the keypad on the drivers side door, This should turn off the anti-theft security.
Put a voltmeter on battery. It should say something like 12 volts. Start motor and see if you have about 14.5 volts while running. If not your charging system has failed.
