How to remove the headrests to put seat covers on for a 1989 crown victoria?

For 2004 crown Vic removing the headrest is not as he mentioned earlier. One side they have push button and other side no push button. There is a metal clip under the plastic cover. If you press the cushion near the plastic cover you will see the metal clip, use a screw driver to pull the clip all way out then the headrest will come out. When you put back , put the clip first then push the head rest down. I did it now.

90% of head rests just pull out. the others will have a button where the headrest goes into the seat. If yours doesn't have the button, then push the headrest down and **** it up with some force and it will come out. Just be carefull you don't hit yourself in the face with it. Been there done that
