2004 sebring engine light on - 2004 Chrysler Sebring

My answer is i have chrysler sebring 2002 engine size is 2.7 i have engine light code is 253

Probably not a cheap fix.
The car will not pass the test if the light is on during the test.
The light is on when the computer has a problem that will affect emissions or performance.
You would need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes then fix the problem. Once the problem is fixed and the code is erased, the light should stay off.

Burned out wiring bridge. Get to wiring harness once you open the engine compartment and check for crispy or melted wires.

first get the spark plugs checked. if the plugs have problems, there would be no check engine indication.

There is something wrong with one of the spark plug or you did not put all the cables on the plugs to the end. Or one of cables or ignition coil(s) is damaged. P 0300 = missfire detected

there is a number of reasons your check engine light is on. Your car is equipped with a self diagnostic system . There is also codes that your engine will display on a tester to tell you what is wrong. But when the check engine light comes on it is telling you its time to put it in a garage and find the problem and fix it.

PCM data configuration error you can pick up an OBD reader from most pats stors for about 50 dollars and reset it but if it continues to come back on you may have to replace the computer (PCM)

when you put it in drive, does it like slam into gear?

more than likely a bad crank sensor but not knowing if there are codes might also be a cam sensor,it is deffently a electrical componet problem hot soak of the motor will break down bad electrical sensors,

check the aic (aux idle air control valve) unplug it and see if it evens out you may have a vac leak please rate -jeff
