I have an 09 accent with 63 000 km (about 40 000 miles) and i have noticed a loud rattle/clunking in front end of car. The tie rods seem tight but the bushings in the stabilizer arm and the linkages to the struts are worn, is this a common thing to happen ? I drive on snowy sometimes rough roads due to ice, any help or advice would be appreciated

Vehicle is still under US warranty - Take to Authorized Hyundai Service Department & have it diagnosed/repaired under warranty (was this vehicle in an accident?... if so, contact Insurance agent for proper instructions).

Rattle in front end since 20000 miles, now 99000 miles top of struts are tight, tie rods seem tight . What else could it be? Happens on bumps.

could be idler arm, ball joints, bearing adjustment. what does rattle sound like? hot weather, cold weather? low speed, high speed?

I have a rattiing coming from the front end when I drive

I have a 2002 Escape with +100,000 miles. I've replaced a number of parts in the front end. A simple, annoying rattle is probably the Stabalizer Links. They're probably 10 inches long and cost about $10 each aftermarket. They can be tough to remove.

A clunking, painful rattle or knocking may be a lower control arm bushing. That takes an entire control arm to fix for +$25 aftermarket.

A light squeak when you turn is probably an outer tie rod.

Good luck!

Clunk or rattle in front end purchased car new never smashed only happens when you hit bumps

You should check your front end, ball joints and tie rod ends for play. To do that jack the car up and set in on blocks so the front wheel hangs free. Grab the tire at 12 o'clock and 6 and try to move it in and out. If the wheel moves you have a bad ball joint, a helper to watch while you move the wheel will tell you upper or lower. Do the same at 9 and 3 to check tie rod ends. Again movement will indicate a bad tie rod. Check for inner or outer. Look at your shocks for signs of leakage. Aleaky shock could also make a clunk.
If everything appears to be tight then remove a wheel and look at your brakes, A loose caliper, pads flopping. Pads should only move in and out to the rotor and the caliper shouldn't move by hand. Hope this helps.

Clunking/rattling noise in the front end (2000 chrysler 300m)

Clunking in rear end Jeep Liberty 3.7 automatic

Nearly impossible to tell you what it is without actually hearing and seeing it. I recommend that you check the rear universal joint, pinion bearing and wheel bearing assemblies for looseness. If it's that loud it shouldn't be too hard to find.
Good luck!!! If you need help doing the repair or have other questions just ask!!!

Popping Sound in Steering Gear - 94 F150

this is a guess but the inner tie rod and tie rod end (you have one of each on each side of the truck), wear out and make a loud clunk, mostly when changing direction, but also on starting & stopping. ABout a $200 repair including a front end alignment.

Call at least 3 shops for an estimate including your Ford dealer.

1991 Oldsmobile 88 Royale loud clunk when turning??

Ball joint, tie rod end or upper strut bearing. CV joints? Pulling to the left may be an alignment problem with front or rear tires. Get a four wheel alignment.
