The alarm system somehow got activated , this is usually because the battery becomes discharged or disconnected try doing this: Remove the key from the ignition disconnect the negative battery terminal put the key back in and turn to ON exit the truck and leave door open reconnect the battery terminal get in and leave door open, if the alarm horn stays off it should start.
Just a quick note once you hook the battery back up try locking it and unlocking it from the drivers door, if that fails you might try the passenger door. I know on some chrysler products you have to lock and lock again to arm and unlock to disarm. I hope this helps. Thanks, Joey
Sounds like you have a shorted wire causing a drain. I recommend disconnecting the alarm all together which should stop the short so battery can remain fully charged.
How long did it take you to replace the battery? If you did a quick switch, try disconnecting it again and leave for 10-15 minutes. Maybe it will reset? Did you replace the battery before it went completely bad? Is this a stock alarm?
