My 2005 Odessay Touring van has a VSA light that has gone on about ten times today. Each time I have to turn off the ignition and turn it back on in order to make it go official. However only once did the check engine light turn off as well. When VSA warning light is on I loose about 80% power. Is there a sensor that is broke or what?

If your check engine light is on at the same time as the VSA light, there will be trouble codes set in the computer's memory. Any major auto parts store will have a code reader and will read out your codes for free. The code definitions will lead you to the problem.

Thanks. It was low on oil per error code. Put oil in and no VSA problems since.

Thanks for the info... that fixed the problem with the VSA light going on. The error code had nothing to do with the VSA system. Error code said I was low on oil. The dealer I brought it to said the VSA system will not work when you are low on oil. When the VSA warning light comes on, you loose 80% of your engine power because of it. They changed the oil and I have not had the VSA warning light go on since.

My check engine light is on ans went to Autozone and the code says replace #1 oxygen sensor. Is it the one in front of the engine or the hard to get to one near the fire wall of the van?

2005 town and country touring i want to disconnect the seatbelt warning light and chime?

1. Turn the ignition switch to the off position and buckle the seat belt
2. Turn the ignition switch to run (engine does not need to be running), wait for the seat belt light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds, unbuckle and rebuckle the drivers seat belt at least 3 times, ending with the seat belt buckled.
4. Turn the ignition key to the off position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

It can be reactivated by repeating these steps.

The alert will be deactivated but the warning light will continue to stay on will the belt is unfastened.

Brand new 2010 Honda odyssey Touring within 40

I can’t be much help on this one (too new for my experience), but your manual will say this (which probably isn’t all that helpful either).
The vehicle stability assist (VSA) system helps to stabilize the vehicle during cornering if the vehicle turns more or less than desired. It also assists you in maintaining traction while accelerating on loose or slippery road surfaces. It does this by regulating the engine’s output and by selectively applying the brakes.
When VSA activates, you may notice that the engine does not respond to the accelerator in the same way it does at other times. There may also be some noise from the VSA hydraulic system. You will also see the VSA activation indicator blink.
The VSA system cannot enhance the vehicle’s driving stability in all situations and does not control your vehicle’s entire braking system. It is still your responsibility to drive and corner at reasonable speeds and to leave a sufficient margin of safety.
On touring models you will also see a ‘‘CHECK VSA SYSTEM’’ message on the multiinformation display if there is a problem with the VSA system.
Without VSA, your vehicle still has normal braking and cornering ability, but it does not have VSA traction and stability enhancement.
The VSA system automatically turns on every time you start the engine, even if you turned it off the last time you drove the vehicle.
I’d get on the Honda people about the problem, especially since you just got the car. I would think that the alarming sounds you are hearing have to do with the unit working the brakes when it shouldn't be, but that's a guess.
Hope this helps some.

My grand am won't start the secruity light is on

TRY THE RELEARN PROCEDURE.....INSERT KEY IN IGNITION, AND TURN TO THE RUN POSITION,,DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE..LET CAR SET WITH KEY ON FOR TEN MINUTES.. THEN TURN KEY OFF AND THEN BACK ON FOR ANOTHER TEN MINUTES... AGAIN TURN OFF THEN BACK ON FOR THE LAST TEN MINUTES... AFTER TIME IS UP TURN OFF REMOVE KEY AND REINSERT AND ATTEMPT TO START CAR.. IF STILL NO GOOD TRY A SPARE KEY IF YOU HAVE ONE IF STILL NO GOOD TAKE YOUR KEY TO DEALER FOR REPRORAMMING

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.

2007 Touring - Engine Pinging Problem

You probably know that pre-ignition or 'ping' comes from too much spark advance. Apparently Honda has limited the influence of the knock sensor on the ignition timing in their quest to extract the maximum mileage from that engine. It's not a healthy condition as you may know; I have seen an engine that was finally destroyed because of too much spark advance; at its extreme, it can punch holes in pistons.
The character of our engines is today under the control of integrated circuits and the 'chip' is what deteremines how an engine handles different conditions and some of the on-board computers have removable PROMs (Programmable Read Only Memory) that can be replaced with others that carry different settings to improve economy or performance but I have not heard of one designed to correct a factory screw-up, a category in which this one needs to be placed.
I would keep a close check on Honda factory 'fixes' to see if they will eventually issue a revised chip on a recall. I can't believe that this is an intended condition.
