Remote won't work, can't start car (alarm system goes off) Also, key won't turn manually in door. FYI` car battery replaced a few months ago. Also tried replacing batteries in remote. When I parked the car recently, shut it off, removed key the door didn't automatically unlock as they are supposed to.

Open the trunk with the key, it will disable the alarm. You probably need a new door lock cylinder, which you should look into. They're easy to replace, but take a while to get, as they have to be coded for your key. You can also remove the door lock cylinder by loosening the t20 torx screw near the door handle until the lock cylinder slides out(DO NOT LOOSEN MORE THAN NECESSARY TO GET THE LOCK CYLINDER OUT), then use a flathead screwdriver through the hole to activate the lock.

My 2001 beetle wont run it starts but it wont idle or run
