Buick Regal 2002 3.8

I have replaced the gas line filter and air filter and checked the plugs. The problem still remains that it will not accelerate. If you step on the gas it revs but goes nowhere then you release the gas it moves slowly until as you keep doing this it gets up to speed but you do not try to pass because it has pick up.

My 02 regal was sluggish before and i brought it somewhere and they said it was the crankshaft sensor so they replaced it and it wasnt the problem then they replaced the maf sensor and that fixed the problem a couple days later the maf they installed malfunctioned and same symptoms which confirmed that it was the maf from the start so dont fall for there ****

Check your catalytic converter, my 02 was doing the same thing and the cat was clogged. If you want to test the problem yourself, you can disconnect the exhaust from the manifold where the two exhaust manifolds merge into one exhaust pipe and take a test drive. You only have to crack the pipe open about 1/2 inch, it will be VERY loud. There is a recall on the 02 catalytic converter.

Have you tested the MAF sensor, disconnect the MAF sensor and see if the problem goes away, if it does replace the MAF. Disconnect the battery to clear the code.

When I start My 1998 buick regal ls 3.8 it idles rough and stalls most of the time, the rpm's go up and down as soon as I let go of the key. If I step on gas for a few seconds it stays running. Motor

did you clean any carbon from the air intake and air passages around the idle control motor. carbon buildup around fuel injectors or intake manifold can cause this problem also.

2002 buick regal 3800 runs fine until it starts heating up

check your vacuum lines to back of maniffold, to the pcv valve, they tend to partially slip out of \the nipple end so at a glance you wld'nt notice it but at closer obsevation they wld be partialy out. if so slide them back in, and wrap a piece of electrical tape arnd it to keep em in place.

My 2002 buick regal is becoming hrrible in gas mileage since around one year. maybe it is making around 8 miles per galon maximum. what could be the reason

First have you replaced the fuel filter, air filter, tune it up, does it blow black smoke is the tail pipe black if so you might have a bad map sensor. Check for leaks, have you replaced your timing belt. Bad timing will cause a fuel consumption.
