07 Ranger STX a/c problem not blowing enough air

It seems like there isnt much airflow thru the vents. The A/C blows real cold, but there doesnt appear to be much air coming out of the vents. I switch from A/C to Max ac and it sounds like more air is blowing, but when you place your hand in front of the vent, there doesnt appear to be any improvement. I looked behind the glove box to see is there was anything like paper blocking the intake, but nothing was obvious.

    There is not a cabin air filter in this truck. There is however a screen just in front of the blower intake. Behind the glove box. The screen was full of lint. Like in a clothes dryer. I made up an atachment to my shop-vac and removed all the lint. Works like brand new again !!

My following reply is for search engine results for "Ford Ranger low AC. flow".
Most commonly the evaporater core is clogged with gunk & debris. Remove blower motor in engine bay & vacuum out all debris. Then using soapy 2water in a spray bottle & with compressed air from an air chuck wand, blow the evap. core out being careful not to bend over (flatten) the aluminum fins.
As an AC technician I STRONGLY advise to never use foaming A/C condenser cleaner you buy from an auto parts store or Hom0 Depot! Most contain a sodium based chemical that over time, slowly dissolves the aluminum fins & solder. I have replaced many home condensing units due to home owners using the FOAMY cleaners. The evap. core in an automobile it not as easily replacable!
I just cleaned my evap. coil in my '99 B3000 & have twice the air flow... like a new truck!

If the air flow cannot be controlled from vent/defrost/floor you may have a blend door issue. This is an electric motor that operates a door in the heating system to control airflow. There are usually 3 motors controlling airflow direction,heat and recirculation. The Ac not blowing cold may also be another problem. If the AC is operational, the compressor will be engaged and the Ac low pressure line under the hood will bw cold. If this is all ok then a blend door issue should be suspected

Left Vents blow warm/hot air when calling for cold air
Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the ac and heater core along with the upper and lower vents.

Air blowing out floor and defrost vents but not not front vents
Sounds like a blend door problem. The vacuum from the engine opens and closes the door that directs air flow thru the vents.
I would guess the door is stuck in the middle of the range or something is blocking it.
The blend door(s) is behind the glove box.

Cant get enough airflow to defrost windshield fans blowing max
Either the damper door is not redirecting air flow OR your air duct clogged with debris. If you get great air volume thru all the other vents I would believe the problem is with your damper not functioning properly.
