You need to find out what the code is that the ECU has set-you can try, first disconnecting the negative cable from your battery-leave it off for 5-10 minutes, hook it back up and see if the light comes back on-if it does, it can be scanned for free at most retail auto supply stores (auto zpne, advance, pep boys)-write the code (s) down and come back here to let us know what they are so we can help.
It could be a variety of issues. If you are a hands on kind of person, you can purchase an OBD II code scanner at Autozone for about $150.00. You can use it on other vehicles as well from 1996 and up. The scanner plugs into a port located under dash on driver side and it will quickly scan your error codes. Autozone will do this test for free, by the way. Not sure about other places.
You will need to get your computer in your car scanned with a (On-Board Diagnostic) OBD II Scanner in order to determine what Trouble Code is stored in your computer. Most AutoZone or O'Reilly Auto Parts stores will do this for you at no charge, retrieving the code will put you in the right direction to solving the problem.

Unless you have a code scanner it will be easier to help if you go to a shop and have the codes scanned to determined why its on. hope this helps
