Sounds like you have an idler pully trying to seize up and the belt is smoking because of it sliding on the pully. In that case you would need to take the belt off and check all idler pullys and the belt tensioner and replace the one that is hard to turn or feels rough when turning by hand. Oil pump, timing chain slipper/idler pulley bearings, accessory drive belt idler, could be a lot of things, this may sound silly but with the vehicle in park engine idling pour a cup or bottle of water on the drive belt and see if it goes away, if it does have the belt replaced and check the idler and tensioner pulley bearings. change the idler pulley . its held on by a bolt in the center of the pulley. the bearings are sealed so you can't grease them. but first you have to take the tension off the serpintine belt. that is also another pulley located below the idler.don't know what size bolt on a ford but use a long wrench grab the bolt on the tensioner push to the right like you were tightening it. that will release the tension on the belt. don't take the belt all the way off just off the idler pulley. change the pulley and do tha same to reinstall the serpintine belt. if the belt comes all thr way off under the hood or on the front around the top of the radiator there will be a schematic that shows you how the belt should go around everything. let me know what happens. sometimes the tensioner pulley will grind also so be sure your changing the right pulley
Any Auto Parts store or even a Wallmart may have a WD 40. I would first try to spray this behind or right where you see the Axel of this Idle pulley. Unfortunately it may be getting old and dried out. If you have any grease or even - sounds funny - Vaseline - try smearing this on where the Axel meet's the round pulley. Blessings, A/V Guy
on the motor mounts on the driver and the passenger side there are 3 to 4 bolts that the motor mounts bolt to the tranny and to the motor. you can remove those leaving the motor mount still attached to the car
Sounds like starter isn't disengaging, get that checked pronto, you could be damaging the flywheel (very expensive). Could be any appliance also; a/c compressor, idler pully, alternator, etc. Don't wait.
