Hello samer.... The timing belt should be replaced every 102,000 KM or 63,380 miles. Here is a link to all of the maintenance schedules for your vehicle

100k miles is a good interval for the timing belt.

SOURCE: How much does it cost

Not much but what happened to the engine when it broke is a lot. Doesn't always destroy a motor but often bends and warps thing. The cost of the new timing belt should be the least of your worries.

Find images on 2004 kia sorento on the timeing belt

timing marks are on the sprockets and pulleys not the belt
if you have replaced the belt you will see where the timing marks are
if not and the engine is running but not well then the timing may be correct and other sensors are at fault
to do the job I strongly suggest that you buy a workshop manual for the vehicle and carefully read the page on belt replacement as it is not an easy job and can cost more money than the belt is worth
