Are there any ticks to be aware of in removing and installing a cd player in my 525xi this is a single player mounted under the display.

BMW designed the car intelligently, so the fuel tank senders and the fuel pump are very easy to get to under the rear seat

first, is this a off the shelve player? second most kia's come with the option of a cd player, my 2001 had one in it.
but if yours did not you can get one that will fit, you need to remove the bezal around the radio and remove the 4 screws that hold the older one on place.
if this is a off the shelve player, where you bought it shoule have all the mounting hardware to install it

Go to a Salvage Yard or contact Car-parts.com which is a collection of online parts salvagers. There were optional radios which had this feature and also a 6 CD stack for the trunk.

The biggest thing would be to make sure the wiring is compatible if going to a trunk mount. But a dash mount single radio/CD is probably the cheapest way and I would think the speaker wires should be compatible.

The manufactuers used a 4 pin lock system in the front dash facing of the radio. You can get the simple release pin barbs at Walmart or most autoparts places. Just insert the barb pin stems into the 4 square holes and press and the radio should come out.

Had the same problem. Remove face plate by unscrewing a screw found when you remove the ashtray. Faceplate should pop off and then take out 4 screws holding in player. After removing the player I shook it around a little, plugged it back in and it worked (after purchasing another, luckily I could return the new one!) Give it a try before replacing.

hi janice, try holding down the eject button continuously for 10 seconds. if the cd continues to only slide partially out, you will need to firmly grip the cd and pull it out manually. I have seen cars at my dealer with warped cd's cause this same problem. make sure to pull the cd out as straight as possible so as to not damage the load drive of the radio. After you get it out I would recommend not using that cd again.

if your sreen has no picture at all its more than likely the screen itself. If it is an E60 most modern shape 5 series check in the spare wheel well (remove the spare wheel and housings) and check the control units mounted under the spare wheel for water contamination.A micro power module and pdc module is located in this well and swim in the water if there is a leak
