Will an automatic transmission from a 1994 dodge ram 1500 pickup work in a 1999 1500 dodge ram pickup, both with v-8 engines

it will fit but the electronics are going to be different

according to the owners amnual the max towing weight for a 1999 ram 1500 quad cab wit automatic transmission is 7600 lb.
with either 5.2 or 5.9 v8. for a reg cab it is 8000 lb.

Look on the gearshift lever. You will have remove the cover to get to it.

Look around shift linkage area of transmission for a threaded in plug with 3 or so wires to it. Neutral safety & back-up are in one switch.

94,95 are the same 96-99 are the same. the 94-95 models have a 4 pin connector as the 96-99 have a round 12 pin connector. Hope this helps
