Sounds like air in the fuel line. Try turning the key ON and pumping the gas pedal (it may take 10-15 times) and then try to start the car. You need to force gas through the fuel lines to dispel the air it was pumping when the car ran out of gas. If it doesn't work the first time, let it rest and repeat by pumping the gas. Best of luck!

Pg. 250 of your 2005 Owner's Manual shows the location of the Fuse Boxes. There is one under your hood on the driver's side and the other is under the dash just to the left of steering wheel. Pg 272, will show you how to replace the fuses. Pg. 286-287 gives a diagram and description of each fuse and what part of the electrical system it enables.
This portion of the electrical system correspondeds to the fuse in position 32 on pg. 287 of the manual.
Your going to have to get on your back with a flashlight and open up the fuse box under the dash by the steering wheel. The lid of the fuse box shows the positions of the fuse and their amperage rating. Like I said, replace the fuse in postion 32 (15 Amp). There is a spare 15 Amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood (easy to get to, see the diagrams in the owner's manual). There is also a fuse puller tool next to the spare fuses.

I think that could be your valves, or piston rings. when they get old and worn, oil can get past them, and then the oil burns (along with the fuel), making the smoke coming out of your exhaust. I'v has some car which smoked VERY badly, and I tried a additive called "restore" (that have it walmart, and other auto stores for about $6-$7 in a silver can). After about 400-500, it really helped. But I think it will only help if the problem is your piston rings (and not your valves). If the problem is your rings, the "restore" will also make the rings seal better, and it can improve fuel economy while doing do (giving your engine more compression=runs better=uses less fuel. I cant promise it will solve your problem, but IF your rings are the problem, then you would be luck, because that stuff has done miracle cures for me on the past.
