Ok the cigarette lighter fuse is not under the hood. i have the same model saturn. open your passenger door. kneel down and look at center consol. a panel door is right there (next to where your left leg would be if sitting in front passenger seat). the panel door just pops off. look on the cover door to find the correct fuse to replace. i had the same issue with mine, the fuse is in that panel, not the one under the hood as the so-called guru claimed.

Everyone else has said the fuse for the lighter was under the hood. Thank you for this. Indeed it was on the passenger front seat side of the console. And it was blown. Easy fix!

If it is not the lighter fuse, its the lighter element itself. you can go to any auto parts store and buy a element for your car.

Hello: Open hood, on driver side there is a fuse box, remove the cover and check the fuse, if fuse is open, replace it. If you used a device in the lighter receptacle that may have caused the fuse to open.

Penny dropped into the cigarette lighter of my 2008 saturn astra. I got the penny out, but the cigarette lighter doesn't work

hi,

there must have been a weak connection somewhere in the line.
use a volt meter to trace from the lighter to the fuse box.
I have also seen the wire connection go bad during a short in the back of the fuse box itself where the wire goes in.
follow the 12 volts and you will find your problem.

If you purchase the proper cigarette lighter from the parts department, you can plug it into one of your utility outlets on your dash.

Fuse blown on cigarette lighter Saturn 2001

It sounds like you have a bad charging cable for the GPS or the cable is overloading the cigarette lighter.

The cigarette lighter is designed for less power then a 12v power outlet.

Therefore it is easy to blow the fuse for the cigarette light if you install something that draws too much power.

First look inside the lighter socket and see if you have some money or something in there. Then check your fuse. Luckily the lighter is a easey fix. If its niether of these things. check the wires going to it.
