Why won't my rear disc brakes keep a pedal

Sound like you have air in the system. You need too bleed out all the air. Some times it takes a while cashing it around. Start at your right rear brake, have some pump them up and hold down the pedal , then open your pit valve, after each time check your brake fluid. You will probably get air from it tell the Pearson that is helping you to hold the pedal down until you have check everything. Then when you have solid fluid come out then go to the left side and do the same. Once you have completed the task and theirs no more air the brakes should only take 3 pump of the peddle hold them down and then release them and push them down again the brake pedal should hold .

HOW TO BLEED THE BRAKES 4 1994 CHRYSLERLHS

have a helper. car needs not be running. locate bleeder screw on brake calipers one per each wheel, have helper pump brakes 4-7 times then hold pedal to floor, while holding to floor loosen bleeder screw untill fluid and air bubbles flow out. tighten bleeder and pump brakes again and hold, while holding loosen bleeder again untill no air bubbles are present.Continue this procedure untill no air bubbles are present . Then proceed to opposite wheel and perform the same procedure. Also check brake fluid reservoir several times and keep full, do not allow to empty while bleeding is taking place or you will have to start all over.

How do I bleed the brakes on my 1997 geo metro?

every vehicle has a brake caliper and or a wheel brake cylinder, on these are a bleeder screw that kinda looks like a grease fitting. locate this bleeder and break free so it turns freely (un screws and screws in ) do this to both sides of the front or rear of vehicle. the brake system shares the same brake master cylinder and fluid, but runs seperate features that operate the front or the rear brakes. Now that bleeders are free and turn easily make sure you tighten them . it doesnt take much just snug them. now fill master cyl with brake fluid dot 3. put cap on master cylinder. have a helper sit in car and pump breaks, at the fifth (5) pump hold brake pedal to the floor, and keep continuous pressure, at this time you loosen or (crack) the bleeder screw allowing fluid and air to escape, tighten screw, and repeat. after second time check fluid in master cylinder and fill. proceed this step on one side untill air bubbles are no longer present, then repeat same procedure on other side. The vehicle does not have to be running. Tell your helper to hold down brakes, and do not release untill told, open bleeder, fluid and air will escape, tighten bleeder screw and then tell them ok pump brakes, after 5 pumps you yell down and they hold down, loosen and bleed, tighten and yell pump. check fluid often and fill, wear eye protection.

When braking have to step on the brake more than once and I already change the master cilinder

did you bench bleed the master cylinder before putting it on car. if not there is air in braking system. you can try this, have someone pump the brakes and hold them. when loosening line the brakes will go to floor, tell person to hold them till line is retightened. loosen one brake line to get trapped air out. close line and have person pump then hold the brakes and repeat above till the brakes go to floor. if this does not get all air out! then bleed at wheels. ( how to bench bleed master cylinder ).----- put in vise, fill resovoir full of brake fluid. use a dowel or similar to pump master cylinder, pump untill fluid is free of air bubbles shoots out that has no more air in it. keep fluid in it or you will get more air in it. when putting on car have fluid in it. as long as you do not loose fluid from lines, you should be ok!! have a good holiday !! if all else fails. be sure there is no leaks at the wheels or brake lines. usually if a wheel cylinder is leaking. you will see this on inside of wheels on backing plate. be sure to fill fluid when done.

How do i put in front brake line in a 96 ford bronco

Jack up your vehicle. Take the tire off. Use a brake line wrench on the nut at the caliper holding the brake line on. You will lose brake fluid during this process and bleeding of the brakes is recommended after you do this. Once you get the line off the caliper use the brake line wrench on the top nut which holds the line to the vehicle. The old line comes out now. Reverse this process to put the new line it.

Now you need to bleed your brakes. Top off the brake fluid in your master cylinder. Have a helper sit in the vehicle. Have your helper pump the brake pedal 5 to ten times and slowly crack the bleeder screw on on of the wheels. You will see brake fluid come out and possibly some air. Have the helper hold the brake pedal down while you close the bleeder screw. Repeat this procedure until only brake fluid comes out. Repeat procedure on the other three wheels.
