1996 Ford Thunderbird LX - AC/Heating A few months back I had my AC recharged (At the time my heating still worked) and it worked fine for awhile, but about a month after that I would turn the defrost on or the AC on and it would only blow a little bit of hot or cold air (like theirs heat coming out but it's not blowing) no matter if I had it set to low or high. Every now and then it would kick on like it should be blowing. I tried starting the defrost today after about 5 mins of running my car but not even a little bit of heat came out like it usually does, I think it's the blower and now it's completely shot. If it is the blower is their any diagram as to what i'll be looking at before I try to fix it myself.

Hi ,look under your dash near the blower and find a 4 or 5 wire plug going in near the blower, unplug it and remove the screws holding it in place ,pull it out ,it will be about half a cigarette packet in size when youve got it out in your hand ,this is most likely your problem part ,its a heater resistor ,it controls your fan speeds,it should be a white chalky resistor or an alloy heat sink type ,they come in 2 ways as i've stated, phone a ford specialist junkyard or auto wrecker or a new ford dealer and give them the part number it has on it and your thunderbird specs or ID numbers and you should be able to locate a replacement without too much bother .

I'm afraid you have the deluxe system,my friend. It has 2 electronic circuit boards that may be going bad. Very expensive unless you can find used or aftermarket.
I hope it's just the blower motor, but I had the other thing happen and I had to wire around it,losing my AUTO temp and blower control. don-ohio
