Hi , this sounds like you have a couple of problems , firstly with the non starting after the engine has been running ,,, this is normally fuel pressure retension or the pre supply pump under the vehicle is faulty , the easiest way to check the pump, is when your vehicle doesn't start with the ignition lights still on , see if you can hear a buzzing noise from under the vehicle just behind the left hand front wheel , this will only prime itself for approx 20 seconds so it may be easier to have the help of someone , if you dont hear the buzzing turn the ignition off for 1 minute and switch on again , if there is no buzzing noise , replace the pre supply pump , the seccond fault with the blower motor running with the ignition off is a simple fault , this will require a replacment heater resistor , the resistor fails and drains the battery so it will cure the blower fault and the flat battery, hope this helps , regards mark

My x5 3.0i 2006 t won't start this morning but temperature, gas level clock were wrong so I turn the engine off and restart a couple times it won't start and I saw message trans. false safe...

no. I'd suggest to disconnect a battery for 15 mins, reconnect, wait for 5 mins and try to restart. If it doesn't help (sometimes there's a program block to prevent stealing equipment) call a dealer

When cold in mornings when back up then shift into

Every car needs a heating engine time specially when its cold, I recomend like about 5 to 10 minutes after you start engine and before you change from P to D. If you try to start the engine first time in the morning, it's cold outside and you immediately go on run you are going to have this trouble every time. Every engine has it's operational standard temperature a 5 to 10 minutes working engine, car stopped, may guaranty this standard temperature and optimal function conditions, and also keeps a longer life of your car.

Good luck

BMW X5 is very hard to start when warm or has been run for about 30 minutes. Engine will turn over and eventually start (some times0 or needs to be left for about an hour before it will start

If its a diesel?? I'd check the Positive crankcase Ventilator or PCV. These things oil up and the filter blocks. This can give the airflow meter some dodgy readings. Its good practice to eliminate these as a cause anyway and they should be changed every 3-4 oil changes anyway. You can buy the complete assembly from the UK for about $100 AuD but thats generally not necessary, just buy the filter only for $50 AuD and clean the body of the unit with degreaser. The actual filter is quite small and they are held in an an odd shaped plastic box at the rear of the engine, alongside the fuel injectors, held with four small hex headed bolts. You have to remove the engine top cover to see it. Fiddly but not a mental strain to achieve.

On the other hand, if its a petrol unit I'd try the fuel filter first, oh, and check that the car isn't running hot before you switch it off, excess engine bay heat maaaay be causing you some grief?

Happy Motoring.
Good luck

I have changed rail pressure switch on bmw 530 diesel but when car is cold start if engine is hot the car not start until i spray easy start into it

Hi we have a similar fault on a 2002 X5 diesel with 140k.km
scan test on 'Autologic' says > low fuel pressure in rail under starting< we have done leak off test at diesel specialist and they say it needs #4 and #2 injector renewing, the low pressure from tank is at spec at approx.3.4bar whereas the rail press at crank is only between 102bar to 140bar on 6 diff scans, where i believe it should be at around 390bar, hope this helps, we still have not fixed this yet,

How long did you charge the battery? If was completely dead a five minute jump won't do it. Let battery JUMP charge for at least 20 minutes and have other person helping you do the jump rev his engine while you start the beamer.
