The only time you can use a tire other than what came from the factory
is if you change wheel diameters
Then the tire size has to have to same circumference

Remember everything is computer controlled.

If you found tires you like and not in your size, you
can not use them

Montainair 2004 fuel consumption now is 27.5 l/km? please advise

Not bad for a Mountaineer. If your looking to increase mileage you can try Fuel injector cleaner and a tune up. Make sure you have tire pressure correct in all tires as well.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 mercury mountaineer

Hello, 2004 Mercury Mountaineer fuel filter is located in front and on top of fuel tank behind two shields. This is for 4.0L 2 wheel drive. When you look just behind the front passenger side tire you will see the first shield. Behind that is the second.

Thanks
