Brake lights I just bought a 2006 ford focus 3 door hatchback. I am having trouble with the brake lights. They will not come on no matter what I do. Also, I don't have any interior lights. What can the problem be?

I would suggest getting a chilton or hayes repair manual for about $25-30 dollars online or store with pictures, illustrations and directions. too much information to simply post and the ministrations will greatly help you, by the way did you check the fuses first and test the wiper power wire to see if the motor is getting power when switched on?

I HAD JUDDERING WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM STOP POSITION IN MY RENAULT CLIO. TURNED OUT MY FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE JAMMED ON DUE TO SEIZED LOWER GUIDE PINS ON FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS. FREED THEM WITH A SPANNER AND PLENTY OF WD40.CURED MY JUDDERING PROBLEM. SORRY I CAN' T HELP WITH ENGINE LIGHT...JOHN PAXTON

f74 its a 15a fuse.its the tenth fuse from the left of the lower section of fuses as you look at the fuse box inside the vehicle.hope this helps

I have the same problem with my 03 Focus hatchback! Someone stoppedme yesterday to tell me that they looked like they were always on when i was driving but when i was in "Park" they worked... This particular driver was also driving a focus hatchback and asked me if my Cruise Control was working.. It actually was not and he told me the same thing happened with his focus. He said it was a wire attached to the back brake lights that had broken. I have not yet gotten it fixed. has anyone else had this problem?

The Focus was desinged in Europe,Think German.......Vw has a similar issue.The brake light switch goes bad.......no lights no shifting out of park.

Check the wiring harness. Sounds like it has come in contact with the break assembly and is shorting out. Look for exposed wiring where the cover has worn off coming in contact with the break. Tape all exposed wiring and be glad you haven't had a small fire.

They squeek or squeel because they may need adjustment or replacement. The noise is a safety feature when in need of replacement. Good Luck.

You most likely disconnected the wireing harness. Check the plugs at the brakes.

Possible the brake line is being crimped. Need to look under the wheel and turn it to the right to see what is going on.
