Alarm system activates spontaneously, lights flashing, horn blowing, door locks locking and unlocking. I've spen $1404.10 having the following replaced with no luck: Body Control Module, Alarm / Disarm Switch and Instrument Panel Circuit Board. Chrysler's crack service technicians now say they can't fix it.

Chrysler alarm system design sucks, I have tried everything and will not spend money on an electrical alarm problem when there is nothing wrong with the engine. I am disconnecting the battery now and waiting to see if that will work? I hope it does and if it does, I am putting the remote key lock thingy away and only using the manual key to lock and unlock the car. I am getting ready to crawl under the dash and put wires out that control the automatic door lock systems but I have to study up on the diagrams first. I hope, I don't have to resort to that because it's difficult to see laying on the driver floor upside down -plus it is hard to work in that position

Our headlights and tail lights are stuck on and van will not start, we were changing the stereo and the alarm beeped like it was unlocking. what could be wrong with it

Are your headlights and tail lights hooked into your alarm system (the flash when arming and disarming). You may have used a wire that was part of the alarm system. Does your alarm system kill the ignition so the van cannot be started? Could have done something to destroy the alarm system.
Might want to start by going backwards. Take the stereo out and putting any wiring back to the way it was before until things go back to normal. If that does not work then take the alarm out and repair any wires that have been cut and spliced for it.

Security system is locked out, will not let use start van

If the headlights are flashing, the alarm system is factory installed. Inserting the key into the driver door lock and turning to the left then back to the right is supposed to disarm it. If the parking lights are blinking,, the alarm is an aftermarket add on, and there should be a disarm button under the dash on the driver side. If it' an aftermarket alarm, you should be able to have it removed. There is a way to bypass the factory alarm. There is a wiring harness in the driver's door. You will have to remove the door panel to find it. The wire is dark green and purple. Splice into that wire and ground it to the chassis and the alarm should no longer work.

My BMW E30 1992 does not want to start. It sounds as if the anti theft code does bot want to disarm once one has put in the right code. So disconnected battery and waited fro 24hours reconnect battery...

Here is information on disarming the alarm! First you need to know if it is a factor or after market system! Here is how you tell if the headlights are flashing, the alarm system is factory installed. Inserting the key into the driver door lock and turning to the left then back to the right is supposed to disarm it. If the parking lights are blinking,, the alarm is an aftermarket add on, and there should be a disarm button under the dash on the driver side. How can I reset my Factory Alarm on my Jeep it wont run

Alarm Module Reset Procedure
NOTE: This information applies to a Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) that was armed when the battery was disconnected and reconnected.
When the armed VTSS senses that the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, it enters its power-up mode. In the power-up mode the alarm system remains armed following a battery failure or disconnect. If the VTSS was armed prior to a battery disconnect or failure, the system will have to be actively or passively disarmed following a battery reconnection.
The power-up mode will also apply if the battery goes dead while the system is armed and battery jump-starting is attempted. The engine no-run feature will prevent the engine from starting until the alarm system has been actively or passively disarmed.
Passive disarming of the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) occurs when the vehicle is unlocked using the key to unlock either front door or the lift gate. Active disarming of the VTSS occurs when the vehicle is unlocked by depressing the Unlock button of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.
Once the alarm has been activated (horn sounding, lights flashing, and the engine no-run feature), either disarming method will deactivate the alarm.
Depressing the Panic button (if equipped) on the RKE transmitter will also disarm the VTSS, but the horn will sound and the lights will flash for about three minutes as part of the Panic feature. The horn and lights can be stopped by pressing any of the RKE transmitter's buttons or driving the vehicle above 15 mph.
