Sometimes, when my car is warmed up, it jerks going from first to second gear, and then other times it doesn't. I'm scared to drive it sometimes because i think that my transmission is going to go out.

chech the transmission fluid while the car is running. you can add it on the right side of the motor under the exhast manifold.

Sounds like bad clutches in trans...tranny shop needed...takes 4 qts for a filter change and remember to check it when the vehicle is warm and in park running.

2004 olds alero transmission fluid how much to fill up

fill it to just above the low level , check it while it is running, (in park) ;-) on a level surface. drive it around the block to warm up the trans, check it again, if it is still low then add some to the full line, check again while running. (don't add fluid when running) it should stay at the full mark at this point.

No drive on a 1999 olds alero

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID SOUND LIKE VECHICLE SLIPPING DUE TO LACK OF FLUID. CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID ON DIP STICK. WHILE ENGINE COLD FLUID LEVEL ON DIP STICK SHOULD FULL MARK.CRANK ENGINE LET VECHICLE IDLE TO WARM.THEN HOLD FOOT ON BRAKE SHIFT THROUGH ALL GEARS FEW TIMES CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL IF LOW ADD FLUID UNTIL YOU GET TO FULL MARK.IF YOU HAVE THE TRANSMISSION WITH NO DIP STICK.YOU NEED TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID + FILTER. YOU NEED 7 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID.BUY DEALERSHIP TRANSMISSION PAN GASKET ITS THICKER MADE DIFFERENT WONT LEAK FLUID. THE TRANSMISSION GASKETS AT AUTO PARTS STORES TOO THIN LEAK FLUID BAD.

SOUND LIKE A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK.I WOULD NOT KEEP DRIVING.LOOKS LIKE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES LEAKING.MORE YOU DRIVE VECHICLE TRANSMISSION PUMPING OUT ALL FLUID FROM BROKEN OR LOOSE COOLER LINES.IF ALL FLUID LEAK OUT YOUR TRANSMISSION YOU WILL HAVE TRANSMISSION FAILURE.BEST TO GET A FRIEND OR COWORKER TO PICK UP YOUR SON AND TAKE YOU TO WORK.GET LEAK FIX DONT DRIVE CAR LOSING TOO MUCH FLUID.TRANSMISSION LEAK FIX CHEAPER THAN BUYING ANOTHER TRANSMISSION COST $2000.00 OR LITTLE MORE.

How much transmission fluid do I put in my 2003 alero. I am changing the filter and gasket.

IT WILL TAKE 7 QUARTS FOR FLUID CHANGE.YOU NEED TO USE FACTORY GASKET.BECAUSE THE GASKET THAT COME WITH FILTER WILL LEAK.I HAD THAT PROBLEM.YOU CAN REUSE THE OLD GASKET.ITS THICK RUBBER GASKET WITH HOLDING HOLDING TABS THAT HOLD IT IN PLACE.IF GASKET LOOKS DAMAGED OR BAD ITS BEST TO BUY IT AT DEALERS SHIP.IT COST ABOUT $40.00 DOLLARS.THE GASKET THAT COME IN FILTER KIT IT TOO THIN.IT PLAIN.IT DONT HAVE SEALING BEADS IN IT.WHEN YOU PUT IT ON ADD FLUID TRANSMISSION WILL LEAK THROUGH THE GASKET.LOOK AT THE OLD GASKET LOOK AT THE DOUBLE SEAL BEAD IT HAS IT KEEP IT FROM LEAKING.
