On a 1988 F-150 with an Auto Transmission the dipstick is usually on the passenger side near the exhaust manifold close to the firewall. Also you fill the Auto trans thru the dipstick. Good Luck
And you should never try and fill ur transmissions urself because they do not like to be overfilled at all a teaspoon too much can blow a tranny up
The manual transmission does not have a dipstick. The fluid level is determined by a fill plug in the side of the tranny. If the fluid is up to the level of the fill hole, then it is full.
SOURCE: cant find dip stick for transmission
this is a sealed transmission, it has no stick stick, the fluid must be checked by the dealer using an electronic scan tool.
SOURCE: tranmission noise
its either next to the engine oil dipstick or around left side of car by transmission. if it needs fluid it might be a good time to have it serviced
SOURCE: what to check transmission fluid for myself. where is the dip sti
Check your manual, but you may not have one. Quite a few newer cars no longer have dipsticks for the trans fluid.

Hello and Welcome to Fixya,
Very sorry Sir, as far as I know. The Dip stick is not included in this model. The transmission fluid must be checked only by the professionals at the dealership's place using special tools for the job (so that the unit shouldn't be over runned by the user and for long life safety of the engine).
You should contact the dealer near your place for the completion of the job!
