White smoke is from coolant in the combustion chamber. It will smell sweet. Check your coolant level, and if it's low, do not run it.
Blue smoke is generally from oil consumption. A compression test may determine your issue. Check your oil in the engine.

Engine starts but stops immediately..too much smoke is coming up

smoke is coming up from where its really kinda hard to tell you what to check and how to do it if the right information is not there like year make and model with a engine size and where the smoke looks to be coming from but i will give you a few things to go off of. if the smoke is coming from where the air clearner is then you may have bent or stuck open valves or some kid may have jammed something up the tail pipe. now if the smoke is coming from somewhere esle you may have a electrical problem.

Engine malfunction warning light on,noticed black fluid of some kind coming from exhaust pipe? nissan almera 01 reg. driving fine,no unusual noise ect.

Have some one scan your car for diagnostic trouble codes. There is an emmision control fault that should be taken care of or it could lead to further problems. The fluid coming out of the tailpipe is normal. Gasoline has a certain percentage of water in it and what doesn't get evaporated comes out the taipipe.

Smoke coming out of a/c vents in dash. A/C still works, but not on highest setting.

Are you sure it's smoke? Probably not smoke, the coils are freezing up and the air is so cold it condenses and looks like smoke coming out.
