Hi,
oil getting on a breather can indicate excessive crankcase pressure. Check all the `crankcase breathers and the valve cover breathers.

if the crankcase has been overfilled with engine oil. The crankshaft has to "beat" it's way through the oil and thus acts as a pump and sends oil all over the internal surfaces of the crankcase.

If the engine cylinders have developed 'blow-by" they will also contribute to an increase in crankcase pressure which will be evident by oil in the breathers. The fumes / pressure in the crankcase are designed to be removed by the engine breather system, and drawn through the engine etc.

I hope this info helps.

04 DODGE Ram hemi cylinder 3 misfire

Check engine compression and compare. then test running engine compression most engines have about 130-170 cranking compression and about 90-110 running compression. OR bring that cylinder to its Top Dead Center compression stroke apply air to the cylinder and check to see where the air is going open throttle plate bad intake valve, from exhaust pipe bad exhaust valve, from oil cap piston rings.

I owned a 2004 dodge ram 1500 hemi. When I'm driving and the A/C is on I can smell the fumes coming from the car or truck in front of me. Any suggestion on how to fix it?

most a/c system have a flap in the system that allows you to decide wether to get fresh air from outside or recirculate the air in the car. One is to stop you getting drowsey fromn any gasses getting into the car and the other is to get the cool air colder by recooling already cold air. Try closing the flap and see what happens

We just changed the spark plugs , oil and air filter in my 2004 dodge ram 2500 hemi and now it wont stay started unless you keep your foot on the gas

Make sure that all the hoses are connected properly. If the intake has any leaks between the throttle body and the air filter housing the computer will not see air entering the engine and you will have this problem.

my 2004 dodge ram 1500 2x2with a hemi 5.7 will not accept fuel.As soon as i start to fill it backs up the filler and stops the pump.the only way i can fill the tank is to hold the fuel nozzel out of the hole ans slowly shoot the fuel into the filler tube. This is not only unsafe for my wife and kids but very time consuming.replaced fuel fill tube already and had breather tube blownout and scoped by a mechanic. He now tells me i need a new $500 gas tank.Is this something i can have the dealership fix for free?

04 dodge ram 5.7 hemi wont start unless you step on eccelerator

Check your idle air control motor. It isn't starting because your not getting air going into the motor, when you press the accelerator it allows air to enter so the engine starts.

2004 ram 1500 with 5.7 hemi using 1 quart every 3,000 miles

Slide a large piece of cardboard under the truck after driving for ten minutes note in which area directly above the spot on the cardboard the oil is coming from then get under the vehicle with a drop light to look for the origin of the leak, if no leak is detected then it may be the engine is burning oil this could either be valve stem seals or broke or worn oil rings.
