I ran fault coded on my 2002 Mazda protege. It comes back fuel too lean bank 1. Already had fuel pump checked, and that was not the problem. Any ideas?

My 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5 is idling at 800 rpm's, and my service engine soon light came on. The code read for a Chrysler? P1283, and Fuel pump module detected an incorrect low idle, low idle select...

Make sure you are looking up the code properly. 1283 for Nissan indicates a lean condition on bank 2. See link below. A vacuum leak is likely, but make sure the new sensor is recalibrated. Did you perform the relearn procedure after replacing the sensor? If not, see the second link below. If you ran the relearn procedure and cleared all codes but 1283 comes back, look for a loose vacuum line or leaky intake manifold gaskets. Hi Paul, Have you had a fault code relating to the knock sensor? That sensor controls ignition timing which can have a relationship to the fault codes you report? Regards John
