If no visible leaks are present the oil is leaking past the intake valve seals and most time you will not see exhaust smoke maybe on start up after sitting all night not a hard or expensive fix if proper procedures are followed
If this is a fron t wheel drive car, the the motor will be installed sideways. Check the valve cover gaskets on the front side of the motor, after the motor has been running to operating temperature. The filler cap for putting oil in the motor, if it is on the front valve cover. Make sure it is NOT leaking while the car is running. Shine a bright light down between the radiator and the front of the motor while its runnuing. Make SURE not to come in contact of any moving parts. This should be done after the car is warmed up, the oil is thinner then. See if you can see any obvious leaks before taking it to your mechanic. Good Luck.
Sounds like a front seal. it is 13 years old and they do go bad. take a search on youtube or buy a repair manual on eBay and decide if you want to take on the job. if not you will have to pay someone to replace it as it will not just go away. it is a toyota so should be good for a quarter million miles assuming all the owners have taken good care of it. if you are past that mileage you may want to consider a rebuilt engine swap instead of replacing one seal.
