My 2000 Grand Prix GT is losing cylinder fire exactly at 60 mph while accelerating every time. Then the Trac warning light flashes once. It runs fine below 60. Noticed no Speed Cont. fuel pump relay.

What engine ? could have 3.1 or 3.8 L No resistor ? for what ?
Noticed no Speed Cont. fuel pump relay. What are you talking about . Are you talking about no control for the fuel pump relay from the PCM/ECM engine computer ? The PCM Energizes the fuel pump relay for two seconds when key is first turned on . Two second prime of fuel system . When cranking the engine the PCM/ECM will only energize the fuel pump relay if it see's an input from the crank sensor .

2004 grand prix check gas cap light on changed gas cap and still the same problem dont know what to do

Open the trunk, pull the carpet back to reveal the access to the fuel pump. The gas tank pressure sensor is located on top or the fuel pump. The connector has 3 wires, 1 black and 2 colored. Pull the plug off the sensor, put jumper across the 2 colored wires, tape it up with electrical tape. Replace the access cover, the carpet, close the trunk and never see that "CHECK GAS CAP" message again.

My fuse to my fuel pump keep shorten out after i start it up?

odds are the pump is bad, but it could be the relay or wiring. Try pulling the relay out and using a different one. You could use the horn relay, for example. If the fuse blows again, take the connector off the pump and interrogate both sides with an ohmmeter. The grey and black wires go to the pump. The resistance between these should be really high on the connector and should be at least a few ohms on the tank side. Whichever side has no resistance is shorted. Am I making sense?

96 grand prix 3.1 got fuel to rail brand new pump wont start, starts for 3 3 to 4 seconds then quites, and then back fires

replace your fuel filter and buy Z MAX (only thing i trust) fuel and engine system restore ( about 35 bucks at any auto store but so worth it). what has happend is the fuel in the tank is dirty or carmalized, basically the car had been sitting for a while and the fuel seperated in your tank. normal conventional gas is not strong enough to break down deposits. and when you replace your fuel pump, make sure the whole wiring harness or the actuall fuel pump harness is replace. other wise you keep blowing your fuel pump and/ or keep backfiring

My 1996 pontiac grand prix will not start. The engine will turn over but it wont fire

May have to get a code reader for this one..... Bad coil, open wire on crank shaft sensor, fuel pump, are among possible problems..... Try a bit of starting fluid, not much of too often mind you!
