My battery went dead and when it was recharged, the lights on the console flicker indicating computer needs to be rest. HOw do I reset the computer on a 1998 Dodge van?

Sounds like a [i]possible[/i] short in your wiring loom / harness.
Get an auto electrician to go through your wiring system.
From a first-hand incident, an unattended short [i]could[/i] result in burning wires / fire.

Sounds like either the battery is not putting out enough power. ie: Dead Battery (replace it) or there is a fuse or relay out. I would check out the battery first. Then move on to the rest.

Try resting air ride, with the massage system close all doors koeo flip through measage system go to suspension reset or on off. Shouldnt have to keep off long then check it.

Have an auto electrician check out the wiring of the car. there could be a short somewhere in the wiring

Sounds like when the battery went dead, there was still a little power left in it, and when starting was attempted, it went completely dead. This causes the computer to automatically shut down to prevent damage to it. Starting it afterwards may require allowing it to run until it reaches operating temp (when temp gauge is in center), and then restarting one or two times. If this doesn't work, you will need a scan tool to reset pcm.

You will have to get the computer reset. Auto Zone used to do it but now they wont. Some shops do it cheap. Or try Auto Zone and see if they will do it for free.

Sounds very much like two possibles a short in the fuse box to the non working parts or your battery went dead and was recharged and you did not reset these items. As what U mention all sound like the equipment that needs to be reset when you change a battery or it goes dead.

Depending on why the alternator went out you could of caused a surge into the ABS module causing it to fail. Very common. The speedo comes thru the module which to me indicated the module failed.

On monday call modulemaster.com and run this by them. The module can be rebuilt for a couple hundred bucks.

If your sure you didnt leave anything unplugged getting a diagnoses or calling this place is going to be your only options.
