Re: 97 cadillac deville power window motor replacement...
The motor sit on a gear stem you will have to wiggle it a little to get it off the magnet inside is holding it to the window frame just use a little pressure to remove.

1st problem, the trunk lid motors are very prone to go bad. You will have to replace it, or take it apart and screw it down. Use it like a non power trunk. 2nd problem, You will have to replace the switch in the drivers door. Might try to spray a little wd40 down in it. That works sometimes....:) Hope this helps, TJ
There is always some way to get to the screws. So if they are not obvious you need to look for circles that can pop off with a screw driver or hidden places like under the handle or in the side pocket or even the outter edge when you open the door.
you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to
get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to pull off the seal in order to see inside the door
I just removed the passenger side door panel with two long screw drivers, a putty knife and an eight mm socket on a quarter inch drive ratchet. First of all I did NOT have to remove any trim or the door handle which stays attatched to the panel. I use the putty knife to protect the paint from being scratched by the screw drivers. Insert the putty knife, ( started at the bottom) outer edge. Next insert the screw driver on top of the putty knife and pry a little to create a gap. Now insert the other screw driver near the first one and pry. It will take some effort to pop the plastic fastener but that is what holds the panel on and there are several of them so just work your way around. I stuck a 2X4 mid way between the panel and door so I could see and gain access to the two 8 mm nuts holding the arm rest secure. I removed these screws from inside or inbetween the door and panel so no damage or removing the arm rest from the dor panel. Use a flash light to spot the nuts. After they are removed and all the plastic fasteners are pried out ( there was a stubborn one for me on top near the door lock) then pull UP on the panel to clear the window sill. Pull up and out at the same time and it should come out. Be patient because they are fairly secure and there are several of them.
try to look at stress point on door by handle normally two screws and under neath panel to screws also disconnect side panel for side mirror door of using panel popper
the window switches are in a cluster of four correct? If you hear the motor then the regulator is bad inside the door. if you don't hear the motor then the four cluster switch needs to be replaced. It should be a little over one hundred dollars for the cluster.
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to
get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel
and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and
disconnect the wiring for your controls
Hi,from inside the trunk, in some models just need to remove the carpeted cover and you will see the sockets ,in others you need to remove the complete tail lamp but is not hard ,just a few screws and it wil come off......C1
