Will try to assist you. ok car starter turns but no engine start?you were not very specific on your problem other than car starts sometimes. and battery ok. you may have clogged fuel injectors[recommend lucas fuel injector cleaner, add 1 bottle to tank of fuel and run for 50 miles to clean the injectors] other problems, is check engine light on? if so you have engine component bad or going bad.it may be idle control sensor, bad mass air flow sensor, it may only need tune up,plugs and wires. it sounds like fuel related issues because it does start after trying. not a no start issue. recommend replace the fuel filter, add the lucas fuel injector cleaner to your fuel tank[follow instructions on bottle] then see if your car starts right. if not, repost your questions to fixya.com please be specific as possible, even small details like engine sputter mean alot when trying to diagnose an engine when not there to hear it myself means alot. thank you for choosing fixya.com and i look forward to assisting you in the future!

My 2005 Nissan cuts off and will not start until the engine cools

I would try getting an active diagnostic scan done on the vehicle but it sounds like it has something to do with the ignition system possibly an ignition control module or another sensor.

My 2005 Altima 2.5s runs fine but every time i try to start it it hesitates for a long time then it finally starts.

Check your battery. Might need to recharge it or get a new one. If your battery is fine, have a mechanic check the pressure of your fuel system.

My 2005 Nissan Altima loss power while I was driving down the street, the next day it cut off at a light, it takes a few seconds to start, but always starts

the 2.5 altima's had a recall on that problem about 2-3 years ago. Go to edmunds or progressive find the recall letter and the dealer will fix it free. well here you go:

section_opened.gif Recall ID # 07V527000 - ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Recall Date: NOV 14, 2007 Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Model Affected: ALTIMA Potential Units Affected: 653910 Recall Details Recall Date: NOV 14, 2007

Model Affected: 2005 NISSAN ALTIMA

Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE, THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CAN OVERHEAT CAUSING A BRIEF INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL OUTPUT FROM THE SENSOR.

Consequence: IF THE INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL FROM THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS SO BRIEF THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) LOGIC DOES NOT HAVE TIME TO DIAGNOSE THE CONDITION, THE ENGINE MAY STOP RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AT A LOW SPEED INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ECM FREE OF CHARGE. CERTAIN MY 2006 ALTIMAS WHICH HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY REMEDIED UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V223 (NISSAN R0606) ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL SINCE THE REPROGRAMMING FOR 06V223 ALSO INCLUDED THIS REPROGRAMMING. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 31, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

Potential Units Affected: 653910

Notes: NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.

Car is completely dead, like somebody shot it dead! No sounds, no light, can't shift out of park into neutral or anything....everything completely dead...no warning whatsoever!

Always clean the battery terminals before jumping. An extremely dead battery may not accept a jump as it serves as a 'buffer" instead of helping. If you do get it started, charge battery with a battery charger then have alternator and battery tested for proper operation and check belt condition and tension as well.

2005 nissan altima won't start, clicking noise is heard

It sounds like your battery is dead. You may be able to fix this with a jump start if you left your lights on over night. If a good jump does not work it may be your starter. but you should start with the simple and cheap solution first. Try having someone jump start your car.

Nissan altima starting problem

i think replacing the sensor is in order. i know all car makes have "recalibration updates" for the ecm and should be done, but have rarely fixed vehicles on just that alone. and your symptoms suggest the sensor could be intermittently bad
