1996 dodge caravan v6 3.0 liter. recently started stalling when I am not on the gas. no problem with the car starting up, even after it stalls several times in a row. tried to replace the air filter, but couldn't get the box open...
thanks
My 1996 3.0L Caravan was stalling at idle, at stoplights, and around corners. Check Engine light would come on intermittently. The on-off-on-off-on computer code 52 (System driving fuel mix too lean DTC P0172) flashed. The first time, I fix it by getting a new battery. The second time, I fixed it by replacing the MAP sensor. Try disconnecting the MAP sensor to let the computer use default value. Then reconnect it to see if it runs better or worse. I simply replaced the MAP sensor and it has been running very well since.
Sounds like idle air control valve, a 4 wire connector and two screws on throttle body.
Either fuel filter stoped up , air filter, the egr valve stuck open ,or a vaccum leak

1998 3.3 v6 113,000 miles on it. runs beautifully, no oil consumption, starts at 20 below zero, but! about once every 300 to 500 miles it will shut off when decelerating, and getting down to low speed. it will start right back up and run perfectly ok from them on or once in a while, it may stall again but then run for another 300 miles just fine. No check light, and no codes. Had throttle body cleaned, and fuel filter replace, new battery also. Help!!
