I have a 1997 Saab 900 s 2.3L 5sp manual non turbo. The fuel injectors (all 4) which are new stay open during the exhaust stroke/when the exhaust valve opens. The valves, seals, head, exhaust and intake gasket, spark plugs, wires, distributor are all new. It starts and idles okay, the only problem is the injectors staying open. What could be the problem and how do I fix it? Thanks Robert

The turbo injectors will be a different setup compared to the non-turbo injectors. The injectors for the turbo need to run at a slightly higher pressure and open for slightly longer to compensate for the denser amount of air in the cylinder.
Running turbo injectors will most likely affect your fuel mixture causing it to run rich.
Check for compression on the cylinder that is misfiring. If compression is good 100lbs or better than see if the injector is pulsing( you need a noid light for this). It could also be the spark so check and see if you have spark.
Take it back to the Dealer........Their Problem not yours. It is possible that a plug was removed during the service and at some stage the ignition was switched on before the plug was reconnected , this would cause a check light and the computer would store this until the light was reset. Hope this helps.
There should always be power at the injectors as long as the fuel pump is on. The fuel injection ECU provides a ground to the injectors to turn them on. You most likely have a bad fuel injection ECU. This is a very common failure on 88,89 and 90 SAABs.
It is fuel injection and yes there are 8 spark plugs you are not seeing things.The spark plugs are paired so that as one spark plug fires on the compression stroke, the other spark plug fires on the exhaust stroke. The next time the coil is fired the order is reversed.
