Vg30i, Ka24e And Vg30e Engines

Alternator belt tension is adjusted on these engines by means of a tension adjusting bolt.

  1. Loosen the alternator pivot bolt, then turn the adjusting bolt until proper tension is achieved.
  2. Tighten the mounting bolts securely. If a new belt has been installed, always recheck the tension after a few hundred miles of driving.

On some vehicles it is easier to access a component from underneath the truck

    Z24i Engine (Alternator still!)



        Loosen the pivot and mounting bolts on the alternator.


        Using a wooden hammer handle or broomstick (or even your hand if you're strong enough), move the alternator one way or the other until the tension is within acceptable limits.

    Never use a screwdriver or any other metal device, such as a prybar, as a lever when adjusting the alternator belt tension!



        Tighten the mounting bolts securely. If a new belt has been installed, always recheck the tension after a few hundred miles of driving.

    Tension on the air conditioning compressor belt is adjusted by means of an idler pulley.



        Loosen the locknut, then turn the adjusting bolt on the idler pulley until the desired tension is achieved.


        Tighten the idler pulley locknut. If a new belt has been installed, always recheck the tension after a few hundred miles of driving.






    Loosen the locknut on the idler pulley before adjusting the belt










    Turn the adjusting bolt until the correct belt tension is achieved

        Loosen the power steering pump pivot bolt, then turn the tension adjusting bolt until proper tension is achieved.

I have a 92 Nissan pathfinder manual 4x4. Where
All Nissan have the fuel pump relay near de ECU. But you must hear when starting working, and falow the click. The ECU is mounted under the pasanger seat.
About the Gauges, in the circuit of the front panel, it have a transistor that suply more or less 8volts to the gauges (gas and temp). Is possibly broken. You must replace it. But first, clean it with a contact cleaner; if the problem continue, replace it. Good Luck.

Timing is off
just get a new timing belt the marks will be on it point the arrows toward the front of the truck and line the marks on the cams and crank with the lines on the belt there will be a dimple on the cams and crank those are the timing marks good luck
