sounds like ther is coolent leaking and now low ie none in the heater matrix .. check for leaks and the usual probs ie cooling fan working thirmostat and all ok check head gasket if there is white smoke frm exhaust and fer water in the oil this will be a milkey grey/ white colour
NOTE: Water vapor will collected in the exhaust system and will burn it off as steam until the pipes get hot enough to boil it off when starting a cold engine. That being said:
you could indeed have a crack in the head, or crack in the water jacket. You may or may not be able to spot some contamination of oil in the coolent or vice-versa, i would check for that too.
i wouldnt think so.. the inter cooler on a turbo car is for air only. if your getting oil mixed with coolant the issue can either be a bad turbo or a blown head gasket or if your radiator has an oil cooler built into it then your radiator is bad and needs replaced..
what engine?? is there coolent in the oil?? is there white or gray smoke comming from the tail pipe?? remove the radiator cap and start the engine if the coolent starts comming out the radiator then you most likly have a blown head gasket.
you dont say if this car is loosing water out of the coolent.white smoke points to a cyclinder head gasket ,if you could let me know more i will help you.adrian
Hello, if you are losing coolant as you say than the most probable place is through your head and into your exhaust system, it is highly likely you have a cracked head or a major head gasket leak. The only other place it can go is if you have a automatic vehicle with the cooler on the bottom of the radiator tank (crack between two tanks), it will go straight into your transmission, you can tell if the transmission oil is overfull and watery (thin and whitish).
