Whats happening is the trans fluid is draining back down into reservoir problem is the piston seals that drive the clutches engaging drive the car also wont reverse until enough fluid press builds this problem will get worse as seal fails you will have to rebuid or replace trans

every car has a voltage regulator the regulator is internal

hope this gives you an ideal of whats happening

Explorer won't move in drive at first

Check transmission fluid level. If level is ok, may need new filter and tranny fluid.

Transmission issue w/Ford Taurus?

Sorry to tell you this. You have an AXOD/AX4N Transmission and it is going bad on you. Soon, it is going to strand you on the road.

This Transmission is a Money Maker for the Mechanics and Transmission shops around the world.

Some people will put Lucas into their transmissions to extend the life of the Transmission but there are people who do that and cause it do DIE!!!! and I mean Immediately.

I am sorry to give you the bad news but at least it is Honest...

2003 gmc envoy - will not move when i put in reverse

Sounds like the pump is going bad inside the transmission.

You could also have a leaking seal when the transmission heats up enough to expand and leak. That or if the electronics controlling the transmission are getting excessive resistance do to a short, that could also cause the problems you are describing.

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 which recently stopped moving forward when I would try to drive it which would indicate that there is a transmission problem. It will go forward and reverse, slowly in 4...

The torque converter is why you cant move.If it were bands, first and reverse are the first to go. Not sure why its not starting. The 2 are unrelated.

2004 Accord will not move on cold mornings

When you release the parking brake, the handle goes down, but the cable in the casing is probably not moving. When you drive away, your parking brake is still set. The movement of the wheels against the brake shoes (or discs) produces heat pretty quickly and causes the brakes to release (at least enough so that there is no longer any contact between the brake shoe or disc and the brake drum or rotor).
The casing normally runs from the back of each hub to a point somewhere forward where they come close together so the brake handle can pull both brake cables at once. The casings could be lubbed, but that is something you probably want a garage to try to do (pretty messy, spraying lub into a casing with the cable is in it, and not a guaranteed solution unless both cables are disconnected, removing from the casings, and cleaned).
Probably the best thing to do to solve the problem in the short run is NOT to set the parking brake in very cold weather.
Hope this is helpful.

In the morning when i shift at drive dont want to

you need to have the fluid level in the trans checked. it's sounds like it's very low and you probably have a leak somewhere. do not continue to drive like this it will damage the trans. you cant top up the fluid on this yourself there is no accessable fill tube.
