Turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine

You should hear the fuel pump priming for about a few seconds then shutting itself off.
If not hear replace the engine oil pressure switch
The 3rd wire to that switch is the pumps prime switch lead.
When the engines oil pressure is reached the computer will shut that circuit off and turn on the fuel pump relay
If you hear the pump prime the relay maybe at fault instead

If you do replace BOTH items and still no fuel is delivered. The fuel pump is most likely at fault

Remove the fuel filter to see if it not clogged up also. If so replace that

That can get plugged up in a weeks time if bad fuel is installed in the tank. I have seen that happen before too

My 1996 Chevy Tahoe wont start unless you put gas into the throttle body

Will it continue to run aftre you manually prime it? If so, you are lossing fuel pressure over time which may indicate a leak in a line and or a faulty fuel pump. (low pressure) Could also be a restriction in fuel line (filter) Frozen water in the line is not unheard of in cold climates.

Wont start unless primed with starting fluid

Sounds like no gas reaching the motor. Could be fuel filter or fuel pump. I would recommed you disconnect the fuel line and start car to see if fuel is coming up if it is then ur injectors r clogged or no good if nothing comes up u know is pump or filter I would change both.
