My 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo seems to be going thru several PCM's in the last year or so. It runs ok then you shut it off and upon restarting at a later time it tries to run for a second or two and nevers starts. If I change out the PCM it will start up and go for a month or two until this happens again. Do you have any answers?

have you changed your crank and cam position sensors? At a minimum clean the contacts on their connectors.

When you change PCM are you disconnecting battery? (Hope so) If so, are you connecting negative cable last. If you are not disconnecting battery or not attaching neg cable last, you're hammering PCM with voltage spike and shortening life immensely

We have 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with electrical problems. The fuse to the gauges keeps blowing, the radio does not work but the radio fuse is OK, and the temp/compass does not work. The temp/compass was...

Get yourself an ohm meter or just a regular test light, start from there, check wires to fuse box and behind gauges and so forth, if the light don't light up, most likely is a break in the wire, can also be an electrical switch or another possible fuse

2003 jeep cherokee laredo still sputters and dies!

It could do that with a bad switch if it was making poor contact before it disconnects, but that really sounds a lot like the fuel pump is going bad...they overheat and start to bind up, then stop...once cooled down they work just fine till it again gets hot enough to do the same thing all over again. I really hate doing this online because in real life, I'd be doing tons of testing instead of making "educated guesses"
