Hi im dave
if it is the differential leaking (rear wheel drive) you could lock up your diff and cost yourself a lot of dinero in drive parts...it would be a much more cost effective solution to get under the truck with a pressure washer (and a wet suit) clean off all the gunk and source out the leak and fix it. If it is a brake line leaking same thing you could lose one side of your brake system and sometimes when your master clyinder runs dry it malfunctions. Then there are the fuel lines... Its best to know exactly what your dealing with by sourcing the leak and making your decisions from there, armed with more knowledge.

2005 dodge ram 1500, will not turn over. Battery is hot and tapping on starter doesn't help.

What you need to do is check to see if your getting current coming from the key switch to the starter. it's the thinnest wire that goes on the startex, that little round thing on the starter. if no current check the fuses you will see one as ( ST ) that is staring fuse. If fuse is ok then you check the starter relay and if that is ok then you might have a broken wire. to make sure the starter is working you could put the van in park and connect a jumper lead to the startex where the small wire runs to the starter and touch the next end to the B+ or 12 volts side of the battery and if the starter works then you have a broken wire.

2005 dodge ram 1500 with a 4.7. It threw a p2098 code. I replaced the rear o2 sensor and reset. It threw the code again. Any advice would help. Thanks

if your car still in the warranty, you can take it to the car dealer, they will fix it.
or you can try this: transmission out and left your down pipe loose, you could grab it and move it up and down 2-3 inches. Tightened it up and the light didnt come on for 2 or 3 weeks. Check to see if your exhaust before the sensors are leak free, and watch out for gas.

Humming noise with crackling from rear end, inability to move

that is not a good noise. you will need to remove the rear cover on the rear end I think you will find a lot of broken pieces, sounds like you need a ring and pinion gear set......SORRY

I have Dodge1500 2005 the rear pinion seal is leaking how can I replace it myself

remove the driveshaft, clean the nut holding the driveshaft coupler to rear end pinion shaft, mark it,now loosen the nut counting the turns so you can put nut back to exact amount of turns, then use a chisel and hammer to remove old seal, clean area good and install new seal and check oil when done, hope this helps.heres a diagram.51c4c07.gif

2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 vent hose on rear axel

The hose is only an extension to elevate the vent. Trucks have these so they can be braver about crossing axle deep water.. The plastic piece on the end is somewhat of a chk valve so the hose isn't open to dirt and road spray. It should be cliped to the frame to stay elevated.
