Hi there, I have a few steps here to help you out:

  • With your hand brake ON, loosen the wheel bolts to hand tight, jack up front wheel, chock back wheels, and put axle stands/blocks in place (just in case) .
  • Remove wheel. Disconnect pad wear wire, it pulls out of the connector.
  • Remove lower caliper bolt (at the back of caliper at the bottom), need a 13mm ring spanner for head of bolt and 17mm to stop it spinning
  • Use a screw driver between the back of the outer pad and the caliper to raise the caliper back away from the back of outer pad. Pivot caliper upwards to rest on top of wheel disc (good idea to tie it up with some wire) .
  • Remove and discard old pads , clean out with wire brush and soft brush , don't breath in to much of the dust its nasty.
  • Fit new pads (remember pad wear sensor on inside pad), make sure that the pads are in contact with the disc , and the top of them sitting flush with the rim of the disc, don't force them into this position they should naturally sit there.
  • Lower caliper down into position, you may need to push back the piston further in order to make room for the new pads , do this with you hands or a small piece of timber. Keep an eye on the brake fluid reservoir , your pushing fluid back in so if its over full it may spill over. Refit lower caliper bolt (Renault say to replace this each time), and tighten. Reconnect pad wear sensor.
  • Pump brake pedal until normal brake pressure returns.
  • Remove axle stand/blocks, refit wheel and bolts, lower jack and tighten up wheel bolts.
Hope this helps...

I have a 2013 Renault Clio iv TCE, and I am replacing the disks for the second time when the vehicle only has 65000Km on the clock. Is this a common issue?

if you haven't already bought the discs, then buy quality after market units
the mileage indicates a brake problem but you didn't mention the reason for the disc replacement
if it is disc warping , the after market discs will resolve that problem
if it just disc wear then check that the callipers are free to move on the pins that allow them to self center on application
If it is just wear out problem , adjust your driving habits as if the car is driven economically, pad wear will exceed 100.000miles before needing replacement
have you git the correct pads in use for the driving conditions if they are wearing out
Talk with an accreted brake shop specialist as there are 3 different pad hardnesses for different conditions

Renault megan. Intermittent loss of brakes, then pedal goes hard

Make sure the emergency brakes are back off and adjusted after pad replacement. A lot of mechanics forget or don't know about this. Also check the master cylinder. Push on brake pedal hard and see if it sinks to the floor, if it does then the master cylinder is bad. If there is air in the brake system it is best to pressure bleed or vacuum bleed the brakes to get the air out. Often when using the two person pump the pedal and hold will not be effective in getting all the air out if a line is broken and then replaced. Stuck parking brake

Have a look at the park brake mechanism on the rear brakes .If you have discs then the mechanism may be rusted .Or over adjusted or badly adjusted Best have a brake specialist have a look . It may be a shredding brake cable that is jamming in the outer cover.

Just had new disc an brake pads and new abs sensors an my abs light is still on

Might want to take it to a car dealership and get that checked out. Either something's still not quite right with your brakes, or your light simply needs resetting. Try consulting the owner's manual.

Ive just had brake discs and pads fitted, now have noticed once driving over 55mph,service ,stop ,abs and hand brake light comes on.and also have bumping noise once braking, these problems wasnt here before...

Was it by chance rear disc brakes? If so, they may have screwed in the self adjusters too far and locked them. I need more info on what they actually did on your brakes.
